Eddie
Garcia, DVM
Dr. Eddie Garcia is part Gator and Part Tiger (War Eagle!) having
completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida
and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn Veterinary College.
Having been involved in organized veterinary medicine locally
and nationally since 1968, Dr. Garcia is currently the Clinic
Director of an AAHA certified clinic in Tampa, Florida. Veterinary
Economics Magazine noted his clinic as a Practice of Excellence.
He
served four terms on the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine,
and is a published author and international lecturer. Dr. Garcia
has been the Florida Veterinary Medical Association's Veterinarian
of the Year, AAHA Southeast Region Veterinarian of the Year, served
as a Governor appointed member of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court
Judicial Nominating Committee, and is the recipient of The Distinguished
Alumnus Award from the University of Auburn College of Veterinary
Medicine.
Dr.
Garcia has two sons. One son is a pathologist and the other an
attorney. He enjoys traveling, reading and working on his farm.
Jim
Carlstedt
After various positions with large companies, General Motors,
Cummins Engine Company etc. with an emphasis on sales and marketing,
Mr. Carlstedt, in 1969, became a stockbroker with E.F. Hutton
in Tampa, Florida.
In
1974, Mr. Carlstedt started his own NASD securities company, Carlstedt
Associates, Inc, specializing in capitalizing research and development,
medical equipment, real estate development, oil and gas exploration
and medical equipment leasing projects. During that period over
$45 million of new equity was raised by his Company.
In
1981 his attention then focused on two real estate projects; a
3,400-acre parcel of land in Northeast Tampa, and the staged development
of an airport location project, providing 200,000 sq. ft. of flex
office space, over which Mr. Carlstedt still presides as General
Partner. The land parcel was syndicated with private investors
in 1982 at a purchase price of $2,900 per acre. The land was sold
two years later at a price of $6,682 per acre, or a profit of
over $10 million During this period he also served as Executive
Director and consultant to a group of 150 physicians during the
start up and development of a diagnostic center and a home health
agency.
Before
selling to Home Care America, Inc. in 1999, he established, owned
and operated a home health agency, pharmacy and medical equipment
leasing company with facilities in Tampa and Boca Raton. The company,
started in 1990 reached sales of over $5 million in 1998.
Jim
has been married for 40 years, has three children and two grand
children.
